This is a new painting in the “Hearts on Fire” series. The series depicts the passion in the hearts of God’s people, which is the love of Jesus Christ. As often happens, the painting “Captive” started out as something else in my mind and became what it is on its own. Over the years, I have enjoyed making loose, gestural line drawings. This painting was a Christmas gift to my grandmother. Mawmaw was very proud of her family and poured a lot of love into each of us.
