This is a new painting in the “Hearts on Fire” series. The series depicts the passion in the hearts of God’s people, which is the love of Jesus Christ. The flames over the worshiper’s heads represent this passion pouring out and are also a reference to the arrival of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.
This was created using a plethora of media on canvas – acrylic, wax pastel, oil pastel, colored pencil, watercolor, and a little gouache for the white of the crosses.
My aim is to highlight the beauty of nature and the relationship between humanity, God, and His creation.
I am currently working in watercolor, gouache, and colored pencil on paper. I love the convenience and immediacy of these materials. Watercolor is usually spontaneous and unpredictable, colored pencil is controlled and detailed, and gouache can be either or both.
I also experiment with electronic art forms such as video and synthesizer music. Some of that work is shared here in addition to the drawings and paintings.
