A Fragrant Offering

This piece is from my “Hearts on Fire” series. This drawing depicts our prayers rising to God as a pleasing fragrance to Him.

“I call to you, Lord, come quickly to me;
hear me when I call to you.
May my prayer be set before you like incense;
may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.”
– Psalm 141:1-2

This was done with colored pencil on bristol paper and is approximately 13″ x 16.” The background was under-painted with artist-grade crayon (Neocolor I and II), and white gouache was used for the cross.
